Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

MoodBubs is a mobile puzzle game developed by Ampersant. This Privacy Policy explains what data may be collected when you use MoodBubs, how that data is used, and how third-party services may process data through the app.

By using MoodBubs, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Data We Collect

MoodBubs may collect or allow third-party partners to collect the following types of data:

Coarse Location

We may collect approximate location information, usually derived from technical data such as IP address. This may be used by advertising partners to provide, measure, and improve ads.

Coarse location data may be linked to your device or app identity and may be used for tracking purposes by third-party advertising partners.

User ID data may be used for:

  • App functionality
  • Purchase restoration
  • Entitlement checks
  • Cloud save or progress recovery, if enabled
  • Analytics, if analytics services are used

User ID data is linked to the user's identity through account, device, or app instance information. User ID data is not used by us for tracking purposes unless it is shared with advertising networks for targeted advertising or advertising measurement.

Device ID

MoodBubs and third-party partners may collect device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app instance identifiers, or similar device-level IDs.

Device ID data may be used for:

  • Third-party advertising
  • Analytics
  • App functionality
  • Fraud prevention
  • Security
  • Crash and performance monitoring

Device ID data may be linked to the user's identity and may be used for tracking purposes by third-party advertising partners.

Purchase History

MoodBubs may collect purchase history related to in-app purchases, such as Remove Ads, hints, skins, cosmetic items, or other optional purchases.

Purchase history may be used for:

  • App functionality
  • Restoring purchases
  • Unlocking purchased content
  • Verifying entitlements
  • Revenue and purchase analytics

Purchase history data may be linked to the user's identity through Apple or Google Play purchase records, device information, app instance IDs, or third-party purchase management services. Purchase history is not used for tracking purposes unless it is shared with advertising networks or data brokers for targeted advertising or advertising measurement.

Product Interaction

MoodBubs may collect information about how users interact with the app. This may include:

  • App launches
  • Level starts and completions
  • Hint usage
  • Button taps
  • Ad views and rewarded ad interactions
  • Session activity
  • In-app purchase screen interactions
  • Game progress events

Product interaction data may be used for third-party advertising, analytics, app functionality, improving gameplay, understanding feature usage, and measuring ad performance. This data may be linked to your identity through device IDs, app instance IDs, analytics IDs, or advertising IDs, and may be used for tracking purposes by third-party advertising partners.

Advertising Data

MoodBubs may collect advertising data when ads are shown in the app. This may include:

  • Ads viewed and ad impressions
  • Ad interactions and rewarded ad completions
  • Ad performance and measurement data
  • Advertising identifiers

Advertising data may be used for third-party advertising, analytics, ad performance measurement, revenue measurement, and improving ad delivery. This data may be linked to your identity through device IDs, advertising IDs, or app instance IDs, and may be used for tracking purposes by third-party advertising partners.

Crash Data

MoodBubs may collect crash data to help detect and fix technical issues. Crash data may include crash logs, error reports, device information, app version, operating system version, and session information.

Crash data is used for analytics, debugging, improving app stability, and monitoring app health. It may be linked to your identity through device IDs or app instance IDs. Crash data is not used for tracking purposes.

Performance Data

MoodBubs may collect performance data to understand and improve how the app runs. This may include launch time, loading time, hang rate, frame rate issues, energy usage, SDK performance, and app responsiveness.

Performance data is used for analytics, improving stability, and optimizing performance. It may be linked to your identity through device IDs or app instance IDs. Performance data is not used for tracking purposes.

2. In-App Purchases

MoodBubs may offer optional in-app purchases, such as Remove Ads, hint packs, cosmetic items, skin packs, and other optional game content.

Payments are processed by the platform operator of the store you downloaded the app from — Apple through the App Store on iOS, or Google through Google Play on Android. We do not collect or store your payment card number, bank account number, or full payment details. We may receive purchase confirmation data needed to unlock purchased content, restore purchases, and manage entitlements.

3. Advertising

MoodBubs may show third-party advertisements. Third-party advertising partners may collect data such as device identifiers, advertising data, product interaction data, approximate location, and technical information. This data may be used to display ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and improve advertising services.

Depending on your device settings and permissions, advertising partners may use certain data for tracking purposes.

4. Analytics

MoodBubs may use analytics tools to understand how players use the game. Analytics may help us understand how many users play the game, which levels are completed, which features are used, where users get stuck, and how ads and purchases perform. Analytics data may be linked to device IDs, app instance IDs, user IDs, or session IDs.

5. App Functionality

Collected data may be used to provide core app functionality, including saving progress, restoring purchases, unlocking purchased items, managing hints and cosmetics, preventing fraud, improving security, fixing crashes, improving performance, and providing customer support.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a way that is not permitted by applicable law.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at support.ampersant@gmail.com so we can review and remove the information if necessary.

9. Data Retention

We keep collected data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law, platform rules, fraud prevention, purchase verification, analytics, or technical operations.

Third-party services may retain data according to their own privacy policies, as linked in Section 6.

10. Your Choices

You may limit certain data collection through your device settings.

On iOS and iPadOS

  • Limit or reset advertising identifier permissions
  • Manage app tracking permissions via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
  • Disable personalized ads via Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
  • Delete the app to remove all locally stored game data

On Android

  • Reset your advertising ID via Settings → Privacy → Ads → Reset advertising ID (the exact path may vary by device manufacturer and Android version)
  • Delete your advertising ID entirely via Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID. Once deleted, apps and advertising partners receive a string of zeros instead of an identifier
  • Opt out of ad personalization via Settings → Google → Ads, or at adssettings.google.com
  • Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored game data

Managing purchases

In-app purchases are managed through your Apple ID and App Store account on iOS, or through your Google account and Google Play on Android. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at support.ampersant@gmail.com.

11. Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the following additional terms apply. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, Ampersant is the data controller for the data described in this Privacy Policy. Our third-party partners listed in Section 6 may act as independent controllers or as processors for their own purposes, as described in their respective privacy policies.

Legal Bases for Processing

We process personal data only where we have a valid legal basis to do so:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for personalized advertising, advertising measurement, and any analytics that are not strictly necessary. Where consent is required, we ask for it through a consent prompt before the relevant data is collected, and you may change or withdraw your choice at any time.
  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to deliver the game, save your progress, restore purchases, and verify entitlements when you make an in-app purchase.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to keep the app secure, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose crashes, and maintain technical stability. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — where we must retain records to comply with tax, accounting, or other legal requirements.

Withdrawing Consent

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. You can change your advertising and analytics consent choices at any time from within the app, and you can additionally limit or reset your advertising identifier through the device settings described in Section 10.

Your Rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access — obtain confirmation of whether we process your personal data and receive a copy of it;
  • Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten");
  • Restriction — request that we limit how we process your data;
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible;
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to object at any time to processing for direct marketing purposes, including profiling for advertising;
  • Withdraw consent — as described above;
  • Lodge a complaint — with your local supervisory authority. A list of EEA authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support.ampersant@gmail.com. We will respond within one month, and may extend this by two further months for complex requests, in which case we will tell you why. We do not charge a fee unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive. Because MoodBubs does not require an account, we may need additional information — such as your advertising identifier or app instance ID — to locate data associated with your device. If we cannot identify you, we may be unable to fulfil the request.

International Transfers

Our third-party service providers are located outside the EEA and the UK, including in the United States. Where data is transferred outside your region, those providers rely on transfer mechanisms approved under applicable law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension. Details are set out in the privacy policies linked in Section 6.

12. Users in California and Other U.S. States

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information. Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws — including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, and Oregon — have broadly similar rights.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, when advertising identifiers and product interaction data are shared with third-party advertising partners for targeted advertising, this may constitute "selling" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. The categories of personal information involved are identifiers (advertising and device IDs), commercial information (purchase history), internet or network activity (product interaction and ad data), and coarse geolocation.

You may opt out at any time by:

  • Turning off personalized advertising in the app's privacy settings;
  • Enabling Limit Ad Tracking or denying the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS, or deleting your advertising ID on Android, as described in Section 10;
  • Emailing us at support.ampersant@gmail.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information".

We honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) where they are transmitted to us in a form we can recognize.

Your California Rights

  • Right to know — the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it;
  • Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we have collected, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • Right to opt out — of the sale or sharing of personal information, as described above;
  • Right to limit — the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect or use sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA;
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you service, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.

To exercise these rights, contact us at support.ampersant@gmail.com. We will verify your request using the identifiers associated with your device or purchase records. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, provided the agent supplies proof of authorization. We will respond within 45 days, extendable by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of MoodBubs after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
